‘LOL’ means ‘Laughing out Loud’

‘LOL’ is an acronym. It stands for ‘Laughing out Loud.’ It is an internet slang usually used in chats and messaging. As on online chatting and messaging, one could not see the other person, ‘lol’ was used to indicated that the person laughed out loud at something the other person said.

‘LOL’ has gotten so popular, that it is common to hear someone use it in spoken conversation, to indicate that they found something funny, as opposed to just laughing.
